Football party DIY goal post

I had a football birthday party and wanted to decorate my table with a DIY goal post.

I must confess that this is not my craft. It is actually crafted by Mr. La-Dee-Da.

Yep, he is one crafty man even if he won’t admit it. He even worked at a craft store in college cutting wood into shapes for crafters. He was destined to marry me and become Mr. La-Dee-Da!!!

So, to let you all know that he is a really tough, brave as well as crafty manĀ (or maybe I have just inspired him to be that way)

Anyhoo, here is my rough and tough man

Commander in the United States Navy.

One day I told him I wanted a goal post for our BIG party, so he got to work.

We took a trip to Home Depot and bought pipes for plumbing, yellow spray paint and then went to Michael’s and bought a flower pot.

Yes, he went to Michael’s. I know…..great man.

Here is what he came up with:

First, I painted the pot white and added ribbon. He put together the pipes so they looked like a goal post. He even spray painted it. Goals are yellow and I was informed that it has to be yellow for it to be legit even though I have a color scheme for the party.

Then, he dug up some dirt from the back yard.

He tightly put the goal post in. It was not budging.

Now, here it is on the dessert table at the party. I added the #34 because that was his old football number.

Thank you Mr. La-Dee-Da! You are much appreciated even in blog land.

So football fantastic, So Mr. Mr. and So La-Dee-Da!!!
