5 minute Craft Friday!

by La-Dee-Da Crafter on August 5, 2011 · 14 comments

It is Friday and that means it is the weekend.

When I was a kid that meant no school for 2 days, woo hoo!!

As I got older and had to work to pay rent and fun stuff like that, it meant Paycheck Friday, woo hoo!

Now, it means family fun time and relax and more crafting Friday, woo hoo!!!

Here at La-Dee-Da Creations, it means 5 minute craft Friday……so here you go!

I needed a quick craft last Sunday to welcome a new couple into the church. They just moved here and I met them at church. I wanted to bring them a welcome gift that night, so I needed something and FAST!!!

So, I took a piece of wood in my stash.

- I modge podged cute scrapbook paper on it

- I used my Cricut to cut out letters to spell WELCOME

- just Modge podged them on

- Added 3 rolled felt flowers and ribbon

- I wrote on the back saying welcome and left my phone number if they need anything

whew, was that 5 minutes???

Pretty darn close

Crafting doesn’t have to take a long time. It is ok if you have lots of fabric, paper, wood crafts laying around because they come in handy when you need a quick, easy 5 minute craft or simple gift. Another bonus to crafting from your stash it is very thrifty. This craft cost me $0.

That is so very La-Dee-Da!!

Last year, I went a whole month crafting on what I had in my stash. It helped clean up my craft stash and reorganize it. You get really creative when you can’t go to a craft store and buy new stuff. When I got down to my last glue stick I was panicked but I did it. I made it a full month. All thanks to my hoarding craft supplies addiction, I mean craft stash….which is a healthy thing to have my fellow crafters. Doesn’t mean you are a hoarder. Don’t anyone tell you that.

Well, if someone plans an intervention for you, then maybe you need to reconsider the craft stash.

Remember, to enter the Pink Poodle Bows giveaway here

ends 8/8 so get in on the fun!!!

So simple, So 5 minutes and So La-Dee-Da!!!

This is so great! I just started an Etsy shop (DeLorenzoArt) and am also in the process of going through my crafting supplies to make things for my shop. It feels good to “clean” it out and make new things! I have told myself that I will try to resist buying new supplies until I get some more sales from my Etsy shop; my husband calls it lean manufacturing. I really don’t know if I can do it; there are so many beautiful supplies!

I just love that you took the new family such a sweet gift. AND that you had the creativity to use what was on hand. Thanks so much for linking to Fab Friday again. Woo hoo – you rock!

Warmly, Michelle

Cool…. and quick to make! I always like such ideas.

We have a link-up party going on – Tea Time Thursdays @ Kreative Korner. I would really appreciate if you’d link up some of your awesome posts there. Hope to see you at the party.
