La-Dee-Da Kids: Garden stones

by La-Dee-Da Crafter on July 1, 2011 · 9 comments

Every now and again I will post about a kids craft project. Maybe they will help you entertain the kids this summer so that they aren’t bored. Well, they will still be bored but maybe these will help.

Making Garden stones is easy but it will need adult supervision so get involved. You can buy these kits at a craft store. I got mine at Michael’s. You will need to help them mix the concrete and pour it but then they can do the rest. These are mosaic tile so the kids can get really creative.

Step 1: mix the concrete provided with water. Mix well. This may be a challenge but try and stir well. Work those muscles.

Step 2: Pour into mold and smooth it out. It is like icing a cake.

Step 3: Now, let your child put their creativity to work!

step 4: Let the stone sit in the mold for 72 hours before taking it out. This is hard because kids want it out immediately. Heck, it was hard for me to have patience. I was excited to see them in the yard. Then, find a place in the garden or yard.

Share with your kids the gift of creating and allow them to be creative, to exercise their creative muscles and become who they are meant to be.

I believe Dr. Seuss always says it best.

“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”

Have a fun summer creating and crafting with your kids, your nieces and nephews or the kids in the neighborhood. You have many opportunities.

So kid friendly, So fun and So La-Dee-Da Kids!!!

How fun…these turned out great! I have a garden stone that my MIL made with my daughter when she was one, they stamped her little feet on in…so precious! She is now almost 7! Looks like it’s time to try our hand at this project again!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today :) I am happy to be your newest follower!
